Your KOHLER® residential backup generator system can be sized and wired for your home in one of two power distribution scenarios:
Essential Loads Power Distribution
This power distribution scenario isolates and supplies electrical power only to those essential devices that must function during a power interruption. Examples of devices and appliances that may be considered essential are:
- Furnace
- Lighting
- Sump Pump
- Refrigerator/freezer
- Security system
These devices are wired through a secondary, or essential loads, distribution panel. This allows a smaller generator to be used. |
 |
Whole House Power Distribution This power distribution scenario enables the homeowner to power all devices within the home with the generator, as if they were using normal utility power. |
